About Nia

Different thinking. Grounded in experience.

Nia Global Strategies connects African tourism ambition with the international markets, people and practical support required to turn attention into lasting opportunity.

Our company

There is no shortage of remarkable tourism stories. The challenge is making sure the right people understand them, believe them and know how to sell them.

Nia Global Strategies was created to bridge the communication gap between African destinations and international source markets. We work where tourism strategy, travel-trade education, media, government relationships, events and first-hand destination experience meet.

Too often, promotion happens as a series of isolated moments: a trade show, a roadshow, a media appearance or a FAM trip. Each may create interest, but without trained sellers, useful content, strong relationships and consistent follow-up, much of that interest disappears. Nia connects those pieces so the work continues after the booth comes down and the hosted buyer returns home.

Our approach is practical and deliberately hands-on. We help destinations understand the market, prepare local tourism providers, manage hosted-buyer and FAM programmes, create sales and marketing content, design conferences and events, train travel professionals and carry destination stories into broadcast and editorial media.

Our work has taken us from government and embassy events in Ottawa and the United States to provider training and university stages in Kampala, hosted-buyer programmes across Uganda, speaking engagements in Arusha and educational FAM trips through Tanzania. Whatever the setting, the purpose remains the same: build the confidence, knowledge and connections that help tourism move from visibility to bookings.

What makes Nia different

01

We understand both sides of the conversation.

We know what destinations need international audiences to understand—and what advisors, buyers, media and travellers need before they can act.

02

We stay beyond the launch.

Training, content, introductions and follow-up are not extras. They are what turn a successful appearance into sustained commercial momentum.

03

We think beyond the expected.

Our ideas are shaped by experience rather than convention. We think outside the box to the point where, for us, there simply is no box.

Keith Gallinger

COO & Operational Strategist

Keith brings practical delivery experience, commercial judgement and the calm operational thinking needed to turn ambitious concepts into successful programmes. His focus is the detail behind the idea: logistics, supplier coordination, production, problem-solving and the systems that allow an event or market initiative to run properly.

Together, Lorraine and Keith combine strategy and delivery. Nia does not simply recommend what a destination should do; wherever possible, we help make it happen.

Different thinking is valuable. Different thinking that can be delivered is powerful.
